FYI-I consider literature a part of art.

Touching base with a thought on the Golden Record. I did a study for a University project that, in part, led me to NASA's Golden Record and the Voyagers. I was trying my hand at interviewing artists on their communications with the Universe, the cosmos, and/or other than humans through their art. I wondered at the time if art might be the communication most relevant in our interactions/ relationships/purpose. In working up the questions for the artists, I ran across Carl Sagan's work on the Golden Record. I was able to access his papers out of the Library of Congress. I was very surprised at what I found there. When asked why great works of art were not included on the Golden Records (there were photographs), he answered it was because they didn't have the time to pull together a committee. I wonder sometimes if we could change that? We didn't use art to introduce ourselves to the future or to create our fossil in time. It sure would be interesting to see what that would look like.

Here's the reference to Sagan's paper (comment on page 38 re art) Sagan, C. (1978). For future time and beings: Draft essay. [Manuscript/Mixed Material]. Retrieved from the Library of Congress, https://www.loc.gov/item/cosmos000040/.

Maybe a revised Golden Record rises someday.

p.s. I hope your work is there if it does. I love it. Thanks for sharing it.
